Netanyahu's statement makes that furniture harder to point at. That is genuinely destabilising — not for the Palestinian national movement, which has long prepared for exactly this, but for the European and Arab-state diplomacy that built its incremental-engagement architecture around the premise that the Israeli government was, at minimum, paying lip service to a Palestinian horizon.
The southern Lebanon parallel
