Ukraine is the invaded party, and its right to defend itself is the established frame. Reporting that follows that frame does not equivocate. What it can do is ask, plainly, what happens to a state under sustained missile and drone attack when the human material of its defence has to be refilled in apartment blocks, medical offices and, increasingly, the boats leaving for the Mediterranean. The three items under review do not answer that question by themselves. They sharpen it.
