Six hours earlier, on the eve of the test flight at 19:07 UTC on 24 July, the same market had priced the same question at 74%. By 14:51 UTC on 25 July, the line sat at 62%. The print at 00:34 UTC is the one to fix on. It is the contract's response to a single flight, and it is a colder reading than the press releases.
The flight in question is Starship's 13th test, which SpaceX targeted for 6:45 p.m. ET on 24 July from Starbase, Texas. Polymarket posted the deployment of 20 Starlink V3 satellites at 23:39 UTC on 24 July, and the softest splashdown yet in the Indian Ocean at 00:34 UTC on 25 July. Both posts are upbeat. The contract moved the other way. Reading the gap between those two records is the editorial work.
What the contract actually prices
Polymarket's contract resolves on full reusability: both the Super Heavy booster and the Starship upper stage returning, refurbishable, and flying again. Half of that equation moved on this flight, on the company's own framing. The upper stage survived in better shape than on prior attempts. The other half did not. TechCrunch's same-day report on the flight carried the qualifier in its headline: SpaceX launched new V3 Starlink satellites but suffered another booster failure, with the body noting that the company appears to have had another issue re-lighting the booster's rocket engines. Until the booster side catches up, each test lands in the market as a partial.
This publication's reading is that the contract is doing what the wire coverage has largely declined to do: net the two halves of the vehicle against each other on the same flight. Treating it as a market reaction to the booster failure would be a clean story but it is not in the evidence on hand. The cleanest read is that both items sit on the same day, both came from the same account, and they describe two different objects: a flight that just happened, and a flight that may follow.
