A test claim described by relays

A post from Middle East Spectator with a source-reported date of 6 September 2026 said Rezaei claimed Iran had tested a new advanced anti-ship ballistic missile against US Navy vessels 48 hours earlier. A Press TV relay with a source-reported date of 6 September 2026 worded the claim as a test of an Iranian anti-destroyer missile right above a US carrier, saying the missile created hell for the Americans and forced them to flee.

The time reference in the relays was described as 48 hours before the interview carried on 6 September 2026. One relay called the weapon an anti-ship ballistic missile and another called it an anti-destroyer missile.

The zone Tehran says is coming

A post from Middle East Eye with unknown publication date said Rezaei had announced a new restricted zone near the Strait of Hormuz, saying vessels entering the zone without coordinating with Iranian authorities would face sanctions. A CGTN post with unknown publication date said Rezaei stated in a TV interview that Iran would announce a restricted zone outside the Strait of Hormuz in the coming days and place any ship attempting to transit the area on Tehran's sanctions list.

A relay from OSINTdefender with a source-reported date of 7 September 2026 said Iran plans to establish a new restricted zone in the Persian Gulf, which will affect shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.

Claims about vessels and enforcement

According to a Clash Report relay of Rezaei's remarks, the Americans are trying to smuggle 5 to 6 vessels at great expense, and those ships are usually targeted. The same relay quoted Rezaei saying Iran had not decided to sink them because they carry petroleum products, and that pollution in the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf would create a problem for Iran as well.

The same relay quoted Rezaei saying Iran will only commit to keeping the Strait of Hormuz open when the US neither threatens nor attacks Iran.

A Clash Report relay quoted Rezaei saying it is a blatant lie to say US economic sanctions are the cause of a major famine in Iran, adding that the government had prepared and currently had enough stocks of food and basic goods. Another Clash Report relay quoted Rezaei saying Americans have never honored their commitments and have always opposed Iran, including a reference to the Pahlavi ruler who left under revolutionary pressure.

The Press TV relay also quoted Rezaei saying Iran's Armed Forces delivered a crushing blow to the US Titan Base in Jordan.
